What is it like being an IT apprentice

What is it like being an IT apprentice with Wilson Field?

Whilst at Wilson Field I have also learned about IVAs & CVAs… I am learning a lot more not just about IT. Contact Wilson Field for free financial advice.

Since I have been at Wilson Field a lot of people have asked me what it’s like to be an apprentice here? And do I enjoy it?

I’ve been at the company for around a month and honestly it has been the best month of my life. I thought about an apprenticeship because I didn’t want to be stuck in college. With an apprenticeship you are learning as well as being out there and learning from the real world. I have learnt so much from John and Phil about IT.

As soon as I came for my interview here I knew it was the right company for me… I never realised before coming to Wilson Field how many companies go into liquidation. But working here helps me realise not just about IT but also about business.

Some of the jobs given to me can be silly little printer jobs etc. But by doing them, this will build me up to do bigger things in IT.

So far I have really enjoyed my time here – it’s a good company with great expectations. Being an apprentice is great because it’s a non-stop job.

Whilst at Wilson Field, I have also learned about IVAs (Individual Voluntary Arrangements) and CVAs (Company Voluntary Arrangement). I am learning a lot, not just about IT but from a business situation too. I am learning more and more every day.

At first, it was quite scary meeting new people and being in the big wide world but now I’ve come to terms with the job, it doesn’t seem as hard. When I first started, words like Pre-pack liquidation and Pre-pack administration were thrown at me. I honestly had no clue what they meant but now I have learnt so much.

I’ve always had a passion for IT and started it at an early age, and since joining Wilson Field I have found out how tough a job it is. I’m not used to the early starts and later finishes from only being at school 3 months ago. But everyone here has helped me through it with little bit of advice.

Before my interview I had to research about Wilson Field and I found out about how they are top of what they do in providing Invoice Finance, Invoice Factoring, and Invoice Discounting.

I’m only on the apprenticeship scheme for a year but I’m sure it will be a great year.

I would just like to say a final thank you for all of you who have helped me through my first stage here…. and for Wilson Field for employing me.
