Sheffield-based insolvency and business turnaround experts Wilson Field has partnered with Parkhead Cricket Club to help encourage more youngsters into sport.

The company, which has its headquarters minutes from Parkhead’s home ground on Ecclesall Road South, has been unveiled as corporate sponsor of the club. We are aiming to raise the profile of the sport and the importance of nurturing young, local, home-grown talent.

Parkhead Cricket Club currently supports senior teams in the Yorkshire & Derbyshire League – the first team are defending champions this season – but is aiming to boost youth participation with an expanding under 15’s team and new under 11’s and under 15’s sides.

Andy Wood, associate director at Wilson Field, said;

“As existing sponsors of local grassroots football teams, we’re also proud to continue our four-year involvement with Parkhead Cricket Club and help raise its profile.

“This new deal is a natural progression in our sponsorship strategy for grassroots sports. For youth sport to make progress, commercial investment is needed. We believe it is important to increase the visibility of youth sport and empower more children to become involved in sport at all levels.”

Parkhead Cricket Club is entirely dependent on fundraising and sponsorship from local businesses to operate.

Martin Bouchier from Parkhead Cricket Club said;

“We are very proud to continue our partnership with Wilson Field. It is fantastic we get this support from a company in our local community.

“This support will enable the club to encourage more youngsters into the game through our new youth teams and also help improve facilities, including new perimeter fencing and ground machines, which helps keep our pitch playable and looking professional.”
