Junior bassist and ex Human League unite for charity
A 12 year old bassist and ex Human League member Russ Dennett are amongst musicians featuring in two charity fundraisers in aid of the Master Cutlers Challenge.
Wilson Field has organised two Sheffield musical talent showcases as part of its efforts for the city-wide challenge in May and August.
The first fundraiser, planned by the business turnaround specialists, will take place at Bar 27, just off London Road, on Sunday May 4. While the second event will be staged at Master Cutler nominated charity Whirlow Hall Farm Trust on Sunday August 3.
Acts appearing in May include Know Your Enemy, Absolute Beginners, Darkside of the Lounge, James Lamb and Paul Foster.
Bands confirmed for the August event include family trio Absolute Beginners with a 12 year old bassist Connor Parsons; Vyndictive; James Lamb; Junkyard Dog featuring Russ Dennett and Carnival.
Teams signing up for the Master Cutler Challenge are generating cash from an original £100 given to them. Monies raised will go to Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals Charity Jessop Wing, neonatal intensive care and maternity hospital.
Leading AV specialist tdc, who provide professional sound and lighting for shows all over the country, are also taking part in the Cutler’s Challenge this year. They have come in on the project to run the stage at the August event.
Richard Groves from tdc said;
“Wilson Field has organised something really special here and we want to use all our expertise to make this a day to remember. We’re aiming at a mini Wembley Stadium only with more cows”.
Organiser Hilary Dennis-Madin from Wilson Field added;
“Abbeydale Brewery will be running the bar at the August event and Whirlow Farm will supply their famous BBQ, serving some of the most succulent meats from their own range. Believe us, it’s worth the ticket price just for the smell!
